Over the years of my leadership as a CEO, the academic study of leadership, and consulting with numerous clients about leadership and team development I discovered the value in reading others narratives, reflections, and tips about leadership. I hope this blog page will inspire you, help to give you courage, and resilience necessary for “Total Leadership.” I have assisted scores of clients in the areas of leadership and executive coaching, organizational culture and design, Board Development, team building, and fundraising counsel. I raised over $170 million for Hendrix College, grew the college by 50%, and increased net revenue by 53%. The team and the Board you have around you is key to success. Cultivating leadership at all levels of the organization is the most important job of the CEO. I follow the coaching principles of Stewart D. Friedman, Practice Professor of Management at the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania and Founding Director of both the Wharton Leadership Program and the Wharton Work/Life Integration Program.
