Correction
The shootings in Oregon yesterday come as no shock. Which as the President said is a sad thing to admit. I am praying for all of the families and the community. I am teaching Global and National Security this semester and it is shocking to reflect on the number of gun deaths in America in relation to the number of deaths caused by terrorism across the world. Something has to change and I for one do not know the answer.
My family and I were victims of a home invasion and the intruder threatened to kill my wife and children. It terrifies me to think of what would have happened if I would not have had a gun to stand him down. So I am fine with the 2nd amendment and the right to bear arms, to use them for protection of self and family, to hunt, to target shoot etc.. But we have to have a better system in this country relative to both guns and the accessibility to mental health care.
Pray today!
Pray for the victims and their families and pray that we as a nation find an answer to this terrible problem!
