If so how do students understand the value added of one institution over another. In a highly competitive and complex environment, delivering on the promise of the experience one claims to offer is key. Hendrix College, by creating Your Hendrix Odyssey: Engaging In Active Learning gets it right. We tied required universal defining experiences together: in the academic program (complete engaged learning projects in 3 of 6 areas); funded engaged learning grants; Odyssey distinction awards; an experiential transcript for all students. These tangible things conveyed our values and fulfilled or promise.
